Russia-Ukraine war!
Will the conflict continue? Or will there be peace?
Will Modiji’s efforts pay off?
As expected by everyone, Russia launched a military offensive against Ukraine at 5 am today. The contention being that Ukraine should not be included in the US-led military alliance NATO – the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation; Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly called for the removal of missiles and NATO forces stationed in Russia’s border nations such as Poland and Romania.
If Ukraine joins NATO, NATO forces will be stationed very close to the Russian capital, Moscow and endanger Russia’s security. That is why Putin has stated categorically that “Ukraine will not be allowed to join NATO.” Putin is stationing more than 2 lakh Russian troops along the Ukraine border just because Ukraine is in a war-like mode against Russia.
The ‘NATO system’ leading to another war in Europe, the epicenter of World War I & II, is unnecessary. Therefore, the war could have been prevented if the US had announced at the time of Putin’s assurance that Ukraine would not be included in NATO’s, and that missiles in Eastern European countries such as Poland and Romania, which preceded it, would be eliminated.
Therefore, Putin is waging war on Ukraine today, knowing that the US-led NATO powers are slowing down for some time. The war is being declared on military and air bases without any harm to civilians. Putin’s view may be that Ukraine should not be invaded by NATO forces and captured.
What is the need for a NATO system now that everything in the world is right? Neither the United States nor other countries have informed the world. But Russia has been accused of trying to invade Ukraine. Somehow countries including the US and UK used Ukraine for their war hungry appetite. While Russian forces have been concentrating on the Ukrainian border for more than two months, they should have called on Russia and NATO to take steps to defuse UN war tensions. But the UN has failed to fully fulfill its role, as it has been pushed into an environment in which the UN remains another distant voice of the United States.
The United States, Germany and France have announced sanctions on Russia as soon as it seeks to recognise the “Donbas” region in Ukraine. Most countries have agreed to send humanitarian food and medicine to the Taliban-held Afghan population, which can only be armed with purely fundamentalist religious ideologies. But, if one country imposes sanctions on another country for waging war, will it not affect ordinary people? The immediate embargo is not only a third-rate measure, but also a very wrong move if it does not comply with US orders. This is how the embargo was imposed on Iran. But despite that, Iran bounced back.
Hiding the fact that NATO is the focal point of the Russia-Ukraine war and calling for an end to the war or blaming Russia will not solve the problem. Whoever succeeds or fails in this, the common people will suffer greatly. Russia’s intention is unlikely to be to occupy Ukraine. Ukraine has no chance of functioning as an independent state until its leader declares that Ukraine will not be a base for NATO forces. Will the Russia-Ukraine war stop at this level? Will it affect Europe as well? Or World War III? Nothing can be said right now about that.
But there is no country in the world that has world-class leaders who can act with a broad mindset that can be called ‘STALWARTS’ which has created an environment that is a huge setback for such global monsters. Once the war begins, the war will be under the control of the country’s leaders for a limited time. After that, it will go out of everyone’s hands. The people of no country like wars and conflicts. All want peace. Everyone will justify the factors for war in a way that suits them. Now, the most dangerous situation seems to be developing in the region.
Many have already spoken directly to French President Macron and German President Frank Wadler. Gone are the days when Putin valued the calls of US and British presidents. Now only one of the two, Chinese President Jing Bin and Indian Prime Minister Modi, will have a chance to speak with Putin and make him heed their advice. Putin’s withdrawal of his troops, or the withdrawal of NATO missiles and troops from Eastern Europe, and the attempt to add Ukraine to NATO could be abandoned if Prime Minister Modi, rather than the Chinese president, makes a serious effort on the issue.
Will the fight continue? Or will there be peace? Will know in a day or two. Indian Prime Minister Modi’s attempt to end the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire in the interest of international peace has the potential to greatly enhance his prestige and India’s prestige internationally.
Let’s wait and see!
