Today, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed to visit Ferozepur in Punjab to inaugurate government projects worth Rs 42,750 crore. PrimeMinister’s travel plan was changed to go by road instead of helicopter due to bad weather. It is not uncommon for VIPs to make such changes in their travel plans. In such a situation the state government should have brought the entire route under its control.

But the security was not properly carried out from the Bathinda Airport to Ferozepur. It is not clear why the Punjab state Government allowed the protest to happen when Honourable Prime Minister of India was travelling on the road and crossing the most important bridges in the Husseiniwala area before reaching his destination. Even if the permission was already granted for the protesters, The state government should have cancelled the permission and completely evacuated the protesters. But, It was not done.

It clearly shows the state government’s bad intention. It is not fair in a democratic country that an Indian Prime Minister has to cancel his visit and return to Delhi.

The Punjab Chuni government should take full responsibility for these unhappy events.The Home Ministries of India should fully investigate this issue and should take stern action against those who are responsible for the security lapses.
