What lesson did Putin add to world history?
Putin’s justice – Biden’s argument!!
Will the Russia-Ukraine war begin and escalate into a third world war, with more than a million Russian troops stationed on the Ukraine-Russia border over the past month? The fear has caused great panic and gripped everyone’s minds. Whether the event was a Ukraine-Russia war, the Ukraine-Putin conflict cannot be considered alone. This event is an important proof that history will always look back upon.
We have to go back 60 years to revisit one of the forerunners of the concentration of Russian forces on the border with Ukraine. Yes, the Cuban problem way back in 1962 from the US state of Florida, was the beginning of the tragedy. At that time, 81 countries, including China, led by Russia, were united under the auspices of the Communist International. After the dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki post World War II, the United States transformed itself into a superpower. Until then, the British Empire had ruled most of the world.
Since the British suffered the greatest setbacks in World War II, the United States rapidly replaced the British Empire with the fall of the Axis powers of Japan, Germany, and Italy. The US became a major defence weapons manufacturer. The US has also established itself as a world leader in economic and military power.
At that time, only two policies dominated the international arena. One is the Russian-led ‘commonwealth policy’ and the other is the US-led ‘capitalist policy’. The US came to destroy the rule-power of the imperialist-minded countries on the basis of communist ideology, to re-establish bourgeois rule-power there, and to provoke civil unrest if any political change was to take place in any country through the ideology of commonwealth. That is how communist-ideological countries like North Vietnam and Cambodia dropped weapons and bombs worth billions and lost thousands of American soldiers in foreign countries.
The United States, which has fought for communist Vietnam tens of thousands of miles away, could not tolerate the communist country of Cuba close to its borders. The US has been trying to conquer Cuba at any time. There have been numerous allegations that their leader, Fidel Castro, was planned to be assassinated by the CIA. Therefore, Russia had stationed its missiles in Cuba in order to protect its ally from the threat of the United States. The U.S. military acknowledged this and informed the then President John F. Kennedy. The United States considered the missiles to be a threat to U.S. security.
Even before the then Russian President Khrushchev learned of the US discovery that Russia’s missiles were stationed in Cuba, Kennedy ordered US forces to surround Cuba. Cuba in those days relied entirely on Russia for fuel. Russian oil tankers were sent to Cuba by Khrushchev to help the besieged Cuba.
Kennedy warned that “if Russian oil tankers come to Cuba, they will sink in the Mediterranean.” Therefore, the 81-nation Communist International convened to decide on his warning. Khrushchev, the then president of Russia, told them not to go to war with the United States; Cuba withdrew oil ships on the principle of ‘peaceful coexistence’; The missiles were also removed. The United States withdrew its siege of Cuba. Khrushchev’s decision was accepted by the communist parties of 79 countries.
Chinese President Mao Zedong and Albanian President Enver Hoxha disagreed, saying “America is a paper tiger and war with the United States will lead to world peace.” Thus the ‘Communist International’ of 81 countries split into two, one under the leadership of Russia and the other under the leadership of China.
Kennedy besieged Cuba, believing that missiles stationed in Cuba would endanger the United States. Kennedy stood up that day and Khrushchev retreated. Today history repeats itself. Even today, Putin is in a similar position like Kennedy. Biden is also like Khrushchev in this scenario. Except that, the countries and events are different but the underlying tensions and elements are basically the same. What happened then was in North America and what is happening today is the same in Europe.
After World War II, many European countries came under Russian domination. Germany was also divided into East Germany and West Germany. Russia was also a union of several countries in the name of the USSR. However, after 1990, according to the PERESTROIKA/GLASNOST POLICY principles, many of Russia’s states became separate nations. One of them is Ukraine, which is now at the centre of the problem having the world’s attention.
After World War II, many countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, came under the military structure of the NATO – North Atlantic Treaty Organization, led by the United States. Accordingly, if there is a problem for a country in NATO, its fundamental aspect is that all countries in the NATO system must work together. Ukraine is basically a country with a large ethnic population living in Russia.
Many countries, including Ukraine, which seceded from Soviet Russia, agreed not to join NATO for any reason and not to place missiles on NATO member states such as Poland, France and Germany. Contrary to those agreements, US missiles are still stationed in Russia in many countries, including Poland and Romania. Russia has consistently opposed this. This is equivalent to placing a bomb near the next door neighbour.
The United States is now actively seeking to expedite the integration of Ukraine into NATO. What is its immediate need? The annexation of Ukraine to NATO is another form of US aggression. It is being campaigned around the world, accusing Russia of trying to cover it up and invade Ukraine.
After World War II, there were no major wars in Europe. The secession of many countries from Soviet Russia was also a peaceful event. Russia is friendly with its neighbours Poland, Finland, Estonia, Belarus, Germany and France. No country has so far accused Russia of any threat; Even cross border problems do not seem to have reappeared. When all is said and done, will Russia not be provoked by the US’s push to include Ukraine in NATO? If Ukraine brings in NATO systems and intercepts missiles there, could it be the same as the one aimed at Moscow-Kremlin? Could it itself be a threat to Russia’s security? Those who talk about security in Ukraine, why do they refuse to open their mouths about Russian security? Why is the UN so silent?
The situation in Ukraine today is the same as how Kennedy besieged Cuba in 1962, believing that missiles stationed in Cuba would pose a danger to the United States. If Ukraine goes into the NATO system, it will also be a missile base for NATO and the United States; Is it fair for Russia to fear that those missile bases will pose a threat to itself? Cuba was a stronghold and base for the US-Russia conflict. Today, the situation is escalating so much more than Ukraine.
Back then Khrushchev withdrew but today Putin is not like Khrushchev. He made it clear that Ukraine’s accession to NATO was a war against Moscow. It seems Putin will not blink for a second. Joe Biden may be intimidated but Putin will not budge. If war breaks out in Ukraine, who will face it? It can only be the underdeveloped Ukrainian people. It could be the European people themselves who want peace. Most Europeans rely solely on natural gas from Russia. Will it not stop if war breaks out?
Biden is now unnecessarily poking his nose into Ukraine to cover up the recession in Afghanistan. When there is no danger to any of Russia’s neighbours, when all the nations of the world want peace, why is this war hysteria only for the United States? Inflation, petrol-diesel price hikes, unemployment, Govt failure – recessions, debt burdens are now more than just peace in Europe. Biden is also trying to disrupt world peace.
Compared to the overall military strength of the US-NATO countries, Russia’s military strength may be less. But what is the real strength of Russia? European countries will come to realise that Russia cannot be defeated by military force. Russia’s strength is different. That too, defeating Putin is not an easy task.
Europe and the rest of the world want peace. The French president has been in talks with the Russian President Vladimir Putin for more than six hours as an example of why France does not want a war. Similarly, the German Chancellor is in talks too. The Ukrainian President also says that they have no problem with Russia. Joe Biden’s actions now hold Russia and China together.
Some small forces may withdraw from the Russia-Ukraine border to reduce the anxiety. But without Russia’s demands being met, the Russian military has no chance of leaving the Ukrainian border altogether. It seems that Putin has decided to wage war today, not tomorrow. Russia and European countries are seeking peace. But, Biden incites to have a war not on his soil, but on foreign soil. That is the history of America.
Khrushchev may have relented back that day.
But today, Putin will not give in.
Ukraine should not be included in NATO.
NATO countries, including Poland, must remove missiles aimed at Russia.
There is justice in Putin’s demands!
The only person to step back today is Biden!
This is what is meant by the saying that history strikes back.
